Job description

St. Norbert College, invites applicants for a Visiting Assistant Professor in Teacher Education to begin in August 2018. We seek an individual who can teach courses in the Early Childhood major and Elementary Education major. The ideal candidate may also need to collaborate with local schools to infuse field experiences in the courses offered and supervise pre-service teachers.

Highly preferred qualifications include:

  • Ph.D. or ABD
  • Minimum of 3 years classroom teaching experience in grades PreK-8
  • Have experience supervising field experiences or coaching early career teachers

Teach courses (field based and/or methods) in a subset of the following:

  •  Literacy
  •  Classroom culture and positive behavior support
  •  Elementary special education
  •  Elementary assessment and data driven instructional practices

The position requires a doctorate (PhD or EdD, ABD will be considered) in an applicable field. A minimum of three years teaching experience in an early elementary classroom is preferred. Additional experience or graduate level coursework in ESL/ELL, 2nd language acquisition, and/or special education is desirable.
