The University of Indianapolis seeks applicants for a nine-month Visiting Professor of Communication starting in August of 2018.

They will likely teach a combination of the following courses: Public Speaking (COMM 100), Introduction to Strategic Communication (COMM 141), Writing for the Electronic Media (COMM 311), Public Relations Principles (COMM 321), and Public Relations Methods (COMM 322). Established in 1902, the University of Indianapolis is a private university located on the near south side of Indianapolis with around 5500 students. The Department of Communication has around 130 majors and offers concentrations in Electronic Media, Human Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, and Sports Communication. We pride ourselves on our student-centered culture, which can be seen in our small class sizes and the individual attention students receive.


  • Teach twelve hours per semester and contribute service to the department and university


  • Master’s degree in Communication or a closely related field is required (Ph.D. is preferred)
  • Minimum of three years of teaching experience and record of excellent pedagogy is required
