Department of Global Studies and Geography, 209 Roosevelt Hall

The Department of Global Studies and Geography invites applications for an adjunct Instructor/Assistant Professor to teach two in person sections of Introduction to Digital Mapping (undergraduate map skills and GIS) in Fall 2022. The Fall sections are already fully enrolled (capped at 57 students) with class meeting times on Tuesday and Thursday at 9:40 am – 11:05 am and 11:20 am -12:45 pm. The instructor may make full use of existing course materials or use their own.

Candidates should ideally hold at least a master’s degree in geography, GIS or a closely related discipline, although consideration will be given to those with graduate training in GIS and related work experience. Prior university teaching experience and demonstrated expertise in GIS/Remote Sensing are preferred. Salary is competitive with regional peer institutions. There is the possibility of renewal thereafter. Ability in future semesters to teach undergraduate-level Intermediate GISRemote Sensing Intermediate GISAdvanced GIS, or Geographic Field Methods is welcome, but not required for the appointment.
