Proposed Minimum Salary
Position Description: We seek a highly motivated individual to assist 3 areas of need at the Caesar Kleberg Wildlife Research Institute. Forty percent effort will be dedicated to working with collaborating scientists, landowners, and supporters to initiate a large quail study, 40% effort will go toward assisting CKWRI graduate students with data organization and analysis, and 20% effort will assist with CKWRI outreach efforts. Applicants should have experience with upland gamebird research, working with diverse groups of conservation supporters, data management and analysis, and wildlife extension and outreach. Teaching opportunities are possible.
Location: Texas A&M University-Kingsville, Kingsville, TX. This university is located in the biodiverse Tamaulipan Biotic Province of southern Texas about 40 miles southwest of Corpus Christi and 30 miles from the Gulf of Mexico.
Qualifications Required: B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in ecology, wildlife science, range science, or related field. A strong work ethic, good verbal and written communication skills, ability to mentor students and work independently and as a productive member of a research team is essential. Must be willing to travel.
