The School of Psychology at Massey University invites applications for four Senior Professional Clinician / Psychologists (Teaching Supervisors) to join the team.
These roles can be based on any three of our campuses at Albany, Manawatū, and Wellington and will include supervision of students at internship practice sites across Aotearoa New Zealand. While working on one of our three lovely campuses is preferred, there may be flexibility for ideal candidates to be able to work remotely with the expectation to travel, and this may be offered in exceptional circumstances.

The Postgraduate Diploma in Psychological Practice is a distance programme that uses an integrated, competency-based curriculum to prepare interns for registration under the Psychologist scope of practice.
As part of Massey University’s commitment to the Te Tiriti o Waitangi, elevating Mātauranga Māori, Indigenous Psychologies, and the philosophies and worldviews of tangata whenua is essential in meeting Te Tiriti o Waitangi aspirations. Expertise in these areas will be highly valued, particularly for the Kaupapa Māori-focused position. Fluency with Māori health models, tikanga, kawa, and te reo also would be valued skills.

You will:
- Be required to provide teaching, supervision, and oversight of the learning and development of students enrolled in the Postgraduate Diploma in Psychological Practice.
- Conduct site visits at internship practice sites across Aotearoa New Zealand and work as part of the collaborative programme teaching team.
- Participate in reviews and updates of the programme’s kaupapa to align practices with the needs of Aotearoa New Zealand and with the most recent advances in pedagogy, Indigenous psychologies, Western psychology, and university academia.
- Be responsible for the safe and effective delivery of training for students seeking registration under the Psychologist’s scope of practice.

Registration and an Annual Practicing Certificate with the New Zealand Psychologists Board are essential for this position.
