Caterpillar College of Engineering and Technology – Tenure Track Assistant Professor Position in Construction
The Department of Civil Engineering and Construction at Bradley University invites applications for a tenure track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in Construction starting in August 2023 or January 2024. This is an on-campus faculty position which will have a primary focus in teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, supervising students, engaging in service, and participating in scholarly activities. We are a committed, student-centered program located in Central Illinois that prioritizes accessible undergraduate education, effective teaching pedagogy, and dedication to an inclusive learning environment.
Applicants must possess a minimum of a Master’s degree in Construction Management or related field. Preference will be given to those who possess any of the following qualities:
- Evidence of excellence in teaching
- Relevant professional experience
- Earned doctorate in Construction Management, or a terminal degree in civil engineering/ architecture or a related field
Experience using and teaching CADD (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) are strongly preferred. The successful applicant will have a broad background in construction management including sustainability, project management, estimating, scheduling, safety and surveying and the ability to teach other civil engineering or construction courses as needed.

The Department of Civil Engineering and Construction has a strong tradition of excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service to society and the profession. CEC faculty are active researchers, have strong ties to major industrial partners, and are active in professional organizations such as ACCE, ACI, AISC, ASC, ASCE, MCAA and others. The department has 15 full-time faculty members and approximately 250 students.
