Job Description:
The Math and Computer Science Department at Wittenberg University seeks to hire a full-time, visiting assistant professor beginning August 1, 2023. The appointment will be for one year, but with possible renewal up to three years. Wittenberg is committed to attracting and retaining highly qualified individuals who collectively reflect the diversity of our student body and society at-large. The successful candidate is expected to join the department faculty in teaching the full range of undergraduate computer science courses, namely programming courses in Python and Java, computer organization, computer theory, algorithms, and/or databases. Additionally, candidates will be expected to support established programs in computer science, cybersecurity, information systems, and data science.
Requirements:
A Ph.D. in computer science is preferred; candidates that are ABD working toward Ph.D. completion will be considered. A doctorate in a related field or a Master’s degree in computer science may be considered. Candidates must have a strong commitment and interest in teaching in the liberal arts and sciences context.
