Description
The University of Mary Hardin Baylor’s College of Humanities and Sciences is seeking a visiting, non-tenure-track faculty member in Engineering for the 2023-2024 academic year. UMHB seeks faculty who are active Christians and dedicated teacher-scholars to prepare students for leadership, service, and faith-informed discernment in a global society.

The Computer Science, Engineering, and Physics Department offers a general engineering degree accredited by ABET EAC with emphases in mechanical and electrical engineering. We strive to offer a top-quality undergraduate program through personal interaction with our students and adoption of best practices in engineering education. We seek applicants who are passionate about teaching and mentoring undergraduate students.

UMHB is conveniently located in Belton, an historic town of 22,000 in the heart of central Texas. Nearby cities are Temple (5 miles), Waco (45 miles), Austin (65 miles), San Antonio (130 miles) and Dallas/Ft. Worth (130 miles). Excellent schools, abundant cultural and recreational opportunities, and a high quality of life are hallmarks of the local community.

Specific Responsibilities:
Teach undergraduate courses in introductory and advanced engineering. Visiting instructors typically will teach 15 hours per semester.
Qualifications:

  • A master’s degree in Engineering or related field (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in an engineering field) is required. A doctorate in Engineering or related field is preferred.
  • Excellent teaching and communication skills, a dedication to professional attainment, and commitment to quality improvement are essential.
  • Must be an active, and committed Christian.
