Position Summary
The Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry is located at the IU School of Medicine-Evansville, as a part of the Mary O’Daniel Stone and Bill Stone Center for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
This is a full-time position consisting of 60% Service and 40% Teaching with the following responsibilities:
20% Mental Health in Medicine Track
- Assist in design and implementation of longitudinal curriculum across all years of medical education for the Mental Health in Medicine Track
- Create curriculum content for medical students and primary care physicians on:
- Screening, assessment, and diagnosis of mental health conditions in medical settings
- Evidence-based psychotherapies and brief interventions (e.g., motivational interviewing, CBT-informed approaches)
- Safety assessment and safety planning
- Biopsychosocial, trauma-informed, and integrated care models
- Assist in delivering didactic sessions & case-based learning for medical students
- Contribute to innovative educational initiatives (e.g., such as Project ECHO)
- Assist in program evaluation and tracking of outcomes
20% Real World Evidence Database Mentorship
- Mentor medical students and Psychiatry residents in utilizing real-world evidence data sources (e.g., institutional data lakes) for research, including development of research questions, navigation of datasets, study design, data interpretation, and dissemination of findings relevant to clinical and population mental health
20% Psychotherapy Training for Psychiatry Residents and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellows
- Develop and provide psychotherapy curriculum for psychiatry residents and child & adolescent fellows
- Within a partnering clinical organization, supervise trainees in psychotherapy
20% Training Center
- Assist in identifying training needs in evidence-based prevention and therapy for educational programs and for the community
- Lead evidence-based prevention and therapy trainings (e.g., Motivational Interviewing, parent/family programs, mind-body interventions)in the training center
- Assist in program evaluation and tracking of outcomes
20% Other duties related to the Mary O’Daniel Stone and Bill Stone Center for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

Basic Qualifications
Terminal degree or doctorate degree required.
