Our Prize Fellowships offer early-stage researchers the opportunity to join a cohort of like-minded rising research stars. These two-year research fellowships in our priority research areas are part of a scheme intended to fast-track fellows to a permanent appointment at Bath.

We are seeking 21 future academic leaders across a range of disciplines who will benefit from our well-resourced and supportive research environment.

As a member of this elite group, you will be on track to become a key member of our research community with a permanent academic position. Our supportive community successfully nurtures ambitious early stage researchers and provides for the requirements of their developing research programme.  Read more about our Prize Fellowships.

In the Institute for Policy Research (IPR) we will appoint one Fellow to further strengthen and develop areas of existing research excellence.

We welcome applications in the following research area:

  • Data, Digital Methods and Public Policy
  • Widening participation into higher education (including related labour market, education and earnings research areas)

How to apply

As part of your application you must provide:

  • a completed application form
  • an outline of your research plans over the next 3-5 years, showing how you will complement and enhance research within the priority research area (no more than 2 sides of A4, minimum font size 11)
  • a CV

The application process will ask you to select which area of research you wish to be apply for. If you are applying for more than one research area under the same faculty or institute, then you will need to specify this when prompted.

If you are applying to more than one faculty or institute then you will need to submit separate applications for the different vacancies.  To help you with this, our online recruitment system allows you to save your previous applications and re-submit them.
