Job description
The Associate Vice President is the chief executive officer of the Davie Campuses and is responsible for providing academic, administrative and fiscal leadership to ensure significant and measurable improvements in learning within a supportive campus environment. The position is also responsible for facilitating select college-wide strategic initiatives, determined in collaboration with senior leadership. The Associate Vice President reports to the Executive Vice President, Academic and Student Affairs and is a member of the institution’s Senior Leadership Council.

Responsibilities:
● Serve as an educational leader, not just a manager, functioning as part of the senior level leadership team that fosters pride and excellence in the institution through a supportive environment
● Advance the core principles of the College’s mission, vision and strategic priorities, providing leadership and opportunity, setting a high standard of performance, nurturing and supporting achievement while modeling behavior consistent with institutional values and goals
● Establish strategic, coherent vision, direction, goals and leadership for the Davie campuses consistent with the College mission, completion initiatives and other strategic initiatives
● Ensure that programs, services, and organizational structure at the Davie campuses are supportive of the College’s mission of affordability, accessibility, quality and equity for all students
● Support a campus culture focused on results and accountability to successfully achieve organizational objectives and celebrate accomplishments
● Oversee the daily operations of the campus, ensuring compliance with college, state, and federal laws, policies, regulations, and operating agreements.
● Develop, maintain and monitor fiscal resources and services and secure external funding to support initiatives at the Davie campuses
● Ensures effective communication across the Davie campuses and the college community
● Establish working relationships with external agencies and systems, higher education institutions, K-12, business and industry and workforce development boards and represent the College at various community and/or business meetings
● Seek out and lead the development of new creative and innovative ideas/initiatives that enhance student success
● Foster innovation and quality improvement through effective coordination, development, implementation and assessment of college-wide innovations and initiatives
● Participate in the development and implementation of college wide policies, procedures, guidelines and campus initiatives
● Cultivate, nurture, and maintain strong working relationships to ensure a spirit of college wide collaboration, collegiality, civility and teamwork
● Maintains high level of sensitivity, understanding, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds
● Performs other tasks as assigned that support the mission and initiatives of the College
Required Qualifications:
To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications.
● Master’s degree
● 5 years of experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified
● 3 years of supervisory experience
Preferred qualifications:
● Experience in implementing best practices in student success and retention strategies in higher education
● Ability to lead and manage change through collaborative leadership
● Experience in writing in an educational setting, such as with accreditation, grants, reporting
● Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects and meet critical deadlines
● Ability to develop and apply flexibility, resourcefulness, and creative approaches to unique problems
● Understanding of college-wide context as related to initiatives and innovations
● Experience utilizing data for organizational decision-making and planning
● Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse individuals and groups of people
● Highly developed public presentation skills
● Experience with next generation technology to enhance the completion agenda
● Familiarity with and commitment to the community college’s purpose
