Location

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for an administrative faculty position as a tenured Professor and Associate Dean for Operations and Faculty Affairs of the College of Science and Mathematics with a preferred start date of July 1, 2026. This is a twelve-month contracted position. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the college in development of policies for recruitment, evaluation, and promotion of faculty
  • Contributing to strategic planning for college
  • Working on a wide variety of faculty affairs issues
  • Working with department chairs on faculty recruitment and development
  • Managing space in partnership with department chairs, including faculty office and laboratory assignments
  • Supervising renovations of facilities
  • Overseeing equipment acquisition
  • Managing special projects assigned by the Dean
  • Serving as the Dean’s delegate upon request
  • Leading review of changes to bylaws and policies within the college

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and’SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • A terminal degree, or the foreign equivalent, with an academic background and appropriate credentials to be a tenured Full Professor in an academic department in the College of Science and Mathematics at KSU is required at the time of hire
  • Experience as a department chair or other significant leadership role in higher education
  • Demonstrated ability in administrative leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working across units in higher education (faculty affairs, academic affairs, facilities, research office, fiscal services, faculty senate, planning and construction)
  • Experience managing direct reports
  • Experience in evaluating faculty for annual performance and promotion
  • Administrative experiences such as budget management, hiring, retention, etc.If no previous chair experience, demonstration of an understanding of chair duties and responsibilities to facilitate close collaboration with chairs
  • Record of strong interpersonal skills
  • Record of strong organizational skills
