Quincy University is a Franciscan, Catholic, and liberal arts institution emphasizing the development of servant-leaders. Catholic expresses the university’s identity and mission rooted in the universal Church and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Being Catholic means seeking truth through faith and reason, nurturing the dignity of every person, promoting justice, and building community through a life of service and prayer. Franciscan refers to the spiritual and educational tradition inspired by St. Francis and St. Clare of Assisi, characterized by simplicity, joy, humility, reverence for creation, and compassion for all people. A Franciscan institution emphasizes peace, service, and the pursuit of truth through relationships of respect and love.
