The University of Central Missouri (UCM), Warrensburg, Missouri, was founded in 1871 as a normal school and has evolved from a state teachers college to a state college, and finally to a comprehensive university in 1972. The Missouri Coordinating Board for Higher Education granted UCM a statewide mission in professional applied science and technology in 1996. The beautiful 156-acre main campus is located one hour from downtown Kansas City.
