Job Description
Description of Job Duty:

The Department of Decision Sciences and Management at Tennessee Tech University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning Fall 2026. Our department is home to over 500 students, offering two majors: Business Management and Business & Information Technology. We offer concentrations in General Management, Human Resource Management, Operations and Supply Chain Management, and Business Intelligence & Analytics. We also provide graduate courses to support the College’s MBA Program and graduate-level certificates.

Responsibilities for the position include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels and teaching in face-to-face and online environments. All doctoral-level faculty in the College of Business are expected to maintain a level of scholarly activity to qualify as Scholarly Academics in AACSB reporting. The College of Business highly values engagement with the local and regional business communities, as well as service to the department, university, and profession. Teaching responsibilities will focus primarily on information systems topics but may also include data analytics and related courses.

Salary:

Commensurate with education and experience. Full-time, nine-month, tenure-track position to begin August 1, 2026.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

A doctoral degree in Management Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited institution (ABDs nearing completion may be considered),
Excellence in teaching and communication skills,
Demonstrated ability to publish research in peer-reviewed journals.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience teaching online and/or hybrid courses
The ability to engage students in meaningful experiential activities
The ability to contribute to university-wide initiatives
IT industry experience
Proven ability to engage community partners to provide projects for experiential learning.
