Applicants must demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in both undergraduate and graduate teaching.The successful candidate should also demonstrate the ability to develop interdisciplinary research collaborations within the Department of Chemistry, across academic units and research centers at Tuskegee University, and with nearby federal laboratories and external partners.
Essential Job Duties
- Teaching general chemistry, undergraduate and graduate inorganic chemistry, and related laboratory courses.
- Contributing to upper-level lecture and laboratory offerings in inorganic and materials-oriented chemistry as needed by the department.
- Establish a productive, independent research program in inorganic chemistry or a closely related area (e.g., materials chemistry, coordination chemistry, solid-state chemistry, catalysis, or bioinorganic chemistry).
- Mentoring and supervising both undergraduate and graduate students (MS & PhD).
- Demonstrate the ability to develop interdisciplinary research collaborations within the Department of Chemistry, across academic units and research centers at Tuskegee University, and with nearby federal laboratories and external partners.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry or closely related discipline prior to starting this appointment is required.
- A commitment to conducting research with graduate (MS) and undergraduate students.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Postdoctoral research experience (1 to 2 years minimum)
- Record of seeking extramural research support evidenced by proposal submission and/or receipt of funding awards.
