Description

The IE School of Architecture and Design invites applications for a tenure-track positionat the forefront of fashion technology, computational design, and digital aesthetics. This position will engage fashion design, fashion technology, and design innovation.

The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. or terminal degree in design, fashion, computational design, or a related discipline, with demonstrated expertise in 3D garment simulation, parametric systems, or wearable technologies. Their research should explore how digital tools reshape design processes, aesthetics, and the production of fashion and material culture.

Successful candidates will teach across undergraduate and graduate programs, engage in research and studio instruction, and contribute to the development of innovative curricula that connect design, technology, and material exploration.

The position is a full-time, tenure-track appointment. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. We encourage applications from underrepresented groups and individuals with diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications

  • A doctoral degree in a relevant design or related field, or an advanced stage in obtaining the doctorate.
  • Demonstrated expertise and experience relevant to the position’s focus.
  • Research and scholarly publications in relevant disciplines.
  • Proven teaching experience at the university level, including course development and student mentorship.
  • Active engagement in professional networks and associations related to the discipline.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Spanish is desirable but not required.
