The Director of Corporate Education and Training is a full-time position located primarily at the Tyson Family Center for Technology in Monroe, NC, with travel to other campuses in Union and Anson counties. Under the direction of the Vice President of Business and Workforce Solutions, the Director of Corporate Education and Training is responsible for organizing, implementing, and administering the Customized Training Program (CTP), Corporate Training, and other Workforce Development training programs. The position works collaboratively with internal and external entities to cultivate positive and mutually beneficial relationships that facilitate the development and delivery of customized training which will meet the needs of all businesses and industries in Union and Anson counties.

- Assess employer workforce needs and develop customized training solutions that support talent recruitment, skill enhancement, and employee retention.
- Respond to inquiries regarding Customized Training and Corporate Training programs and guide employers through the full training lifecycle.
- Market, develop, coordinate, and manage Corporate Training programs for business and industry within the College’s service area.
- Promote Corporate Education programs internally and externally through community engagement, partnerships, events, and targeted outreach.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Chambers of Commerce, economic development partners, NC Community College System networks, and other business organizations.
- Manage multiple Customized Training (NCEdge), contract training, and grant-funded projects while ensuring compliance with NCCCS guidelines and contractual obligations.
- Lead and participate in quarterly meetings with employer partners and internal stakeholders to review training outcomes, assess workforce needs, and plan future initiatives.
- Provide oversight for sponsored programs, ensuring required budgets, reports, deliverables, evaluations, and documentation are completed in accordance with state, NCCCS, and funding agency requirements.
- Utilize Salesforce as the primary system of record for tracking employer engagement, project milestones, contracts, instructor agreements, communications, and training outcomes.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of training activities in Salesforce and Colleague to maintain audit readiness.
- Facilitate collection and reporting of program data, student information, evaluations, and performance outcomes.
- Assess and improve reporting and documentation processes in collaboration with college and state offices.
- Recruit, select, and coordinate instructors for customized and corporate training programs.
- Submit hiring documents, contracts, professional services agreements, and credential verification for training personnel.
- Orient instructors to applicable College policies and ensure required system access is established.
- Provide direct supervision and leadership to Corporate Education staff, including workload management, performance oversight, and professional development.
- Approve and monitor staff timesheets and payroll in accordance with College policies and deadlines.
- Ensure accurate processing of instructor and staff compensation in coordination with the Business Office.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and training of staff within the Business and Workforce Solutions unit.
- Foster a culture of accountability, responsiveness, and service excellence within the Corporate Education team.
- Manage departmental budgets, including CTP and Corporate Training funds; monitor expenditures; and coordinate payroll and payment processes in collaboration with the Business Office.
- Oversee and coordinate all aspects of training implementation, including course setup, scheduling, instructor coordination, materials preparation, facilities arrangements, and documentation requirements.
- Review and evaluate programs periodically to support continuous improvement and innovation.
- Work collaboratively across departments to ensure scheduling, coding, contracting, billing, and invoicing processes are completed accurately and on time.
- Work independently in a responsive, service-oriented manner while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Work may require hours outside of the regular work week, including nights, mornings, and weekends.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Business and Workforce Solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Three years’ experience developing collaborative partnerships to further economic or workforce development and developing training systems to support workforce development in diverse settings
- Experience creating workforce development strategies, analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and recommending solutions to internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated organizational, administrative, tactical, analytical, and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Superior analytical and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrated experience utilizing Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, preferably Salesforce, for tracking business engagement, project management, reporting, and performance outcomes.
- Superior customer service, specifically related to assessing business needs and crafting tailored solutions to improve their business outcomes
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree
- Five years related experience with the North Carolina Community College System, North Carolina E-Procurement, or administering Customized Training Programs or similar incumbent worker training programs
- Advanced proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM platforms, including experience with reporting dashboards, workflow automation, contract tracking, grant documentation, and data-driven decision-making in workforce or economic development settings.
- Working knowledge of economic and workforce development processes, concepts, and tools; including 5 years of relevant experience with workforce development funding, government contract management, vendor agreements, budget management, and forecasting
