McNeese State University invites qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Professor of Undergraduate Nursing in the Department of Undergraduate Nursing/College of Nursing and Health Professions. This is a full-time, 9-month, unclassified, tenure-track position. The appointment begins in Fall (August) 2026.

SALARY: $60,000

POSITION DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: The Assistant Professor, a faculty member in the Undergraduate Nursing Degree Program, has responsibilities that include but are not limited to: administration, teaching, university/community service, and research/scholarly work. Specific duties include: implementing University and College policies and procedures; implementing the program curricula; participating in curriculum and course planning, implementation, and evaluation; student advisement; mentoring; assisting in evaluating clinical settings and experiences related to the course and student learning needs; planning clinical experiences for students and evaluating the clinical competence of students; serves on University and College of Nursing committees; participates in the community by offering volunteer services and/or offering consultation and/or in-service education to clinical agencies or community agencies/organizations; and initiates and/or participates in nursing research activities.

REQUIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Nursing are required.
Academic preparation includes degree specialization, specialty coursework, or other preparation sufficient to address the qualifications.
At least two years of clinical practice are required in the nursing field of expertise and current, unencumbered licensure in the state of Louisiana.
Preferred:

Doctorate in Nursing or related field preferred.
