Job Description
The Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Wellesley College invites applications for the position of a non-tenure track Visiting Teaching Assistant Professor of Modern Chinese Language and Culture (0.8 FTE part-time) for the academic year 2026-2027. We seek an individual with expertise in Modern Chinese/Sinophone Studies, including literary studies, cinema studies, media studies and related fields, who also has demonstrated experiences teaching Chinese language at the beginning and intermediate levels. The successful applicant will be expected to teach two courses in each of the two semesters, including language and content courses.
Basic Qualifications:
Candidates are expected to have teaching experience in higher education institutions in North America, including language teaching. We expect the candidates to have a Ph.D. degree or be currently in a Ph.D. program (ABD). Those who have a Master’s Degree and a extensive teaching experience in liberal arts colleges will also be considered.
