The Greehey School of Business at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas, invites applications for an endowed chair position beginning August 1, 2026. The Greehey Chair in Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility will play a pivotal role in elevating the GSB as a leader in developing ethical business professionals. The individual selected will provide strategic leadership to integrate cutting edge ethics content across undergraduate and graduate curricula and will position the GSB as a national thought leader in corporate social responsibility.
Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Management (or a closely related business discipline) from an AACSB-accredited institution and possess the academic rank of Professor or an academic record sufficient to warrant appointment as Professor at St. Mary’s. Preference will be given to applicants with expertise in Business Ethics, Corporate Social Responsibility, and/or Leadership.
Faculty responsibilities include teaching management courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates with experience in multiple instructional modalities, as well as those skilled in experiential learning, service-learning, innovative pedagogy, or course development, are strongly preferred.
Candidates must demonstrate a record of high-quality scholarly research in peer reviewed journals and show evidence of the ability to secure grants supporting research and student programming.
The successful candidate will also engage in outreach activities with San Antonio area schools, businesses, and nonprofit organizations, and lead the development of a conference on ethics and corporate social responsibility that reflects a model of excellence and national prominence.
Faculty members in the Greehey School of Business are expected to contribute meaningfully to the department, the School, the broader community, and the mission of St. Mary’s University.
About Us
The position is within the Department of Management and Marketing in the Greehey School of Business, which offers majors in Marketing, Management, and International Business. The Marketing major offers two tracks, Digital Marketing and Marketing, and the Management major offers two tracks, one in General Management and one in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. At the graduate level, faculty members provide instruction to students enrolled in the MBA program.
The Greehey School of Business, accredited by AACSB International, offers undergraduate BBA degrees in various fields and a hybrid and online MBA at the graduate level. With a 1:17 faculty-to-student ratio, the school is known for academic excellence and innovative programming and has a highly engaged alumni base.
