Job description
Essential Function 1: Drives the continued growth and development of the college’s not-forcredit programs;
- Seeks opportunities for the continued growth of non-credit courses and programs within the WAVES portfolio, including the development of registered apprenticeships and new locations for Adult Basic Education.
- Supports the Associate Dean of Workforce Development in working closely with employers to provide upskilling trainings.
- Administers the HISET for the College
- Develops a calendar of not-for-credit offerings
- Leads improvement efforts for not-for-credit offerings, including overseeing program review for Adult Basic Education
- Oversees scheduling and ensures appropriate credit equivalencies are awarded to ABE faculty
- Leads development of not-for-credit curriculum
- Ensures that one student learning outcome is assessed for each not-for-credit course taught
- Ensures records for not-for-credit courses are maintained 10. Ensures Industry Advisory Committees meet and have appropriate input into programs.
Essential Function 2: Oversees locations that have a vocational or not-for-credit focus;
- Collaborates with communities that have or want to have high-school equivalency and not-for-credit training opportunities through sub-centers or temporary sites,
- Guides program development and recruitment for programs hosted at the Kwajalein Campus, Arrak Campus, and Jela Meto (Maritime Training Center).
- Represents the needs and progress of these locations to the senior leadership and other key offices.
- Ensures these locations have the resources needed to achieve their goals.
Essential Function 3: Manages, oversees, and supports personnel within the WAVES division;
- Ensures that all WAVES personnel participate in the performance management system as required
- Provides mentorship to direct reports and others
Essential Function 4: Represents WAVES and its stakeholders to internal and external stakeholders; Supporting Activities 1. Reports regularly to the Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs 2. Ensures programs activities, trainings, and opportunities are broadly advertised online, at in-person events, and through the college’s master calendar 3. Collaborates with the Dean of Academic Affairs for events such as faculty symposium, faculty in-service, and dean with faculty meetings 4. Participates in graduation ceremonies and oversees ABE graduation 5. Attends Chamber of Commerce meetings and presents opportunities to the Chamber
Required Qualification:
- A Master’s degree in Adult Education or Vocational (CTE) Education or related field AND a minimum of three years of administrative experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of community, agency and private sector training needs
- Demonstrated ability to assess community and educational programs and regional networking
Preferred Qualifications:
- A doctoral degree in Education or a related field and five or more years of administrative experience in higher education.
- Has had experience in a Leadership or Supervisory Role in this field
- Demonstrated ability in non-credit and continuing education program development and marketing.
