Description
The University of Montana Missoula College invites applications for the nontenure-track, Assistant Professorposition in Business in the Business & Technology department. This is a full-time, on-campus faculty position with responsibilities in teaching, service, and creative scholarship. The position’s primary focus is teaching courses in the Business Management degree and certificate programs which prepare students for careers in the workforce and transfer to the baccalaureate degree. We seek dynamic individuals with a strong background in teaching, learning, and business. Applicants are expected to have a business background with the ability to lead and motivate students as they prepare for business careers.
The successful candidate will be a business generalist and play a key role in delivering high-quality instruction to the Business Management Program’s ongoing excellence. Courses in the program include Accounting, Personal Finance, Marketing, Management, Economics, Business Ethics, Data Analysis/Spreadsheets, and Productivity Software.
Responsibilities:
- Undergraduate teaching responsibilities in Accounting, Finance, Management, Marketing, Data Analyst, Economics, Productivity Software.
- Participate in curriculum development, assessment, and program review.
- Advise and mentor students pursuing business management related careers
- Engage in community outreach to build partnerships with business organizations and employers.
- Engage in service activities at the department, college, and university levels.
- Passion for continued learning and professional development
- Recruit undergraduate students into Missoula College’s Business Management pathways and work collaboratively with the College of Business on the University of Montana’s four-year Mountain campus.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Demonstrated experience and success in the business management field
- Commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and learning
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters or Doctoral degree
- Prior teaching experience in business-related topics
- Experience with program administration.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
