Job description
Provide students with a rich, relevant and engaging academic experience. Duties will include teaching, conducting student outcomes assessment, curriculum development, student advising, and university service and continuously engaging in professional development while maintaining current expertise in content area. Develop students through effective and innovative teaching and learning practices. Teach a range of management courses in the areas of general management and supply chain & operations management at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Essential Job Functions
- Demonstrate specialized knowledge and maintain expertise in the theory, skills, and pedagogy of the applicable discipline or profession
- Use strategies and skills necessary to support student learning and prepare and deliver current and relevant course material in an understandable and motivating manner
- Continually assess course objectives and instructional methods to improve teaching and learning
- Use formative and summative assessments of student learning within assigned courses to inform instruction and improve student attainment of course objectives and program outcomes
- Establish a student and advisor relationship that provides guidance with regard to program choices and career possibilities and supports student educational growth through guided decision making
- Support the university’s outcomes initiatives by working to refine and revise course assignments and evaluation tools and leading or participating in data analysis discussions to make program and course improvements
- Facilitate development and revision of programs and courses, assuring alignment within the program description and outcomes, course objectives and content, as well as university curriculum standards
- Attend commencement, convocation, faculty meetings, department meetings, committee meetings, professional development programs, and other university events, as applicable
- Support student enrollment and retention by participating in university events, advising student clubs and organizations, and assisting with admissions activities
- Adhere to and fulfill the responsibilities of all faculty members as outlined in the faculty manual
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Doctorate (Ph.D., DBA, or similar) in a management discipline such as logistics, operations management, or supply chain management or related.
- Two years of industry experience in a supply chain, operations management, or in an industrial or engineering design role. The experience must have included: project work, coordination activities with customers and/or suppliers, communication experience in a professional setting, problem solving. Experience may have been gained prior to or after the attainment of the doctorate.
