Description:

The Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Marketing at the Assistant Professor level, with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2027. Salary and benefits are competitive with peer institutions. Responsibilities include teaching nine credit hours per semester (three courses); engaging in scholarly research leading to publications in high-quality refereed journals; contributing service at the department, college, and/or university level; and a strong commitment to student engagement, student success, and instructional excellence. This faculty member is expected to support the Rollins College of Business and UTC’s strategic efforts, as well as events and programs on campus and in the Chattanooga community.

Qualifications:

Successful (Ideal) candidates will possess the following requirements:

  • Demonstrate the potential to conduct high-quality research that leads to publications in high-quality, refereed marketing journals.
  • Demonstrated past success in, or high potential for, exemplary teaching of introductory/advanced courses in: (i) marketing research and (ii) digital marketing/social media marketing. Additional teaching assignments may be available at the undergraduate or graduate level, depending on departmental or college needs.
  • Expected to teach using various instructional modalities, including online instruction.
  • Willingness to engage in efforts related to the Gary W. Rollins College of Business and UTC’s Strategic Plans.
  • Successful candidates will also be expected to contribute service based on the needs and strategic priorities of: (i) the Dept. of Marketing & Entrepreneurship, (ii) the Rollins College of Business, and/or (iii) the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC).

Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. or DBA in Marketing, or closely related field from an AACSB-accredited business school. Candidates in the ABD stage of their doctoral studies are expected to complete the Ph.D./DBA prior to this position’s start date of August 1, 2027.
