The Division of Enrollment Management at Rutgers University-New Brunswick (EM-NB) is comprised of eight student facing and administrative units: Undergraduate Admissions, Graduate Admissions, the Office of Financial Aid, the Office of the Registrar, and the One Stop Student Services Center, as well as business, information technology, and analytics administrative teams. The division employs over 120+ full-time staff and an additional 200+ student employees to fulfill its mission. Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Assistant Vice Chancellor of Enrollment Management. (AVC-EM) for the Offices of Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions, New Brunswick.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Provides strategic leadership and oversight of undergraduate and graduate admissions, recruitment and outreach, marketing and communications, and applicant services across all undergraduate-enrolling schools at Rutgers University-New Brunswick.
- Oversees recruitment, outreach, marketing, communications, and customer service functions supporting graduate enrollment.
- Develops and executes a comprehensive, forward-looking admissions strategy designed to attract and enroll a diverse, high-achieving national and international student population, from prospect through deposit.
- Advances recruitment and marketing strategies to strengthen the graduate applicant pool, while respecting program-level authority over final admissions decisions.
- Leads enrollment planning and forecasting efforts, designing and implementing targeted recruitment, marketing, and admissions strategies to achieve short- and long-term enrollment goals across undergraduate and graduate populations.
- Partners closely with Financial Aid, the Registrar, Institutional Research, Enrollment Management Strategy and Analytics, academic units, and student services to align strategies, leverage institutional relationships, and continuously refine admissions practices.
- Uses data, analytics, and modeling to inform admissions criteria, evaluate campaign effectiveness, and support enrollment forecasting and planning.
- Establishes and advances best practices in admissions and enrollment management and serves as a visible institutional leader, representing Rutgers-New Brunswick externally as the university’s dean of admissions.
- Leads a team of approximately 50 professional staff and 80 student ambassadors and oversees a budget of approximately $8.5 million.

Work Arrangement
Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 or the applicable provisions of relevant collective negotiations agreements, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Minimum Education and Experience
- Master’s degree with 8-10 years of experience in higher education, at least 5 of which must be in a supervisory position in admissions.
- At least 5 years of supervisory experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated success leading and developing teams, implementing innovative recruitment, marketing and/or admissions practices, and using analytics to make data informed decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in admissions at a large, public university, serving enrollment goals for multiple colleges/schools.
