Job description
We are seeking a faculty colleague whose research and teaching will be in the broad domain of cybersecurity and who will employ a behavioral, sociotechnical, and/or technical perspective. Specific areas of research interest may include, but are not limited to, how cybersecurity interacts with areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), human-computer interaction (HCI), data science, information policy, information ethics, and computer networking.
Successful candidates will have strong technical and/or analytical skills and be able to articulate a research agenda that aligns with the broader research interests of the iSchool. They must also clearly demonstrate the ability to work effectively within a highly interdisciplinary environment. Candidates should also indicate a clear plan for actively seeking external funding.
In addition to strong research, the iSchool values highly effective and innovative teaching. Successful applicants must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching in cybersecurity-related areas. The successful candidate will be expected to teach at all levels, including courses in the iSchool’s bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degree programs. Experience teaching online, as well as face-to-face, is preferred. Faculty typically teach two courses per semester each academic year. All faculty members are expected to advise students, serve on iSchool, College, and University committees, and be active in professional and academic organizations.
