Primary Purpose of the Position:
The Dean of the Honors College & Director of Undergraduate Research serves as the principal academic and administrative leader of the Honors College at Winston-Salem State University. Reporting to the Vice Provost for Student Success, the Dean provides strategic leadership for honors education, undergraduate research, scholar development, student engagement, faculty collaboration, enrollment and retention, assessment, and resource development. The Dean advances an intellectually rigorous and high-impact environment that prepares high-achieving students for graduate and professional study, competitive scholarships and fellowships, leadership, research, service, and meaningful careers.
The Dean provides university-wide leadership for undergraduate research and collaborates with academic and administrative partners to expand high-impact learning opportunities. The Dean supervises the Director of the Cheatham-White Scholars Program and Honors Student Experiences, the Coordinator of the Honors College, and other assigned staff.

Preferred Qualifications
- A distinguished record of scholarship, research, creative activity, and/or publication sufficient to support appointment at the associate or full professor level, where applicable.
- Direct leadership or teaching experience in an honors college or honors program and/or experience leading undergraduate research across disciplines.
