Job Description

The Department of Marketing, Distribution, and Economics in the Collat School of Business at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) invites applications for a non-tenure track faculty position to teach in our Business Communications program, starting in Spring 2026 or Fall 2027. We seek an innovative and collaborative individual with a passion for helping to prepare students to become confident and effective communicators in a professional business environment increasingly shaped by AI and other digital technologies.

The successful candidate will be assigned to teach a mix of four in-person/online undergraduate and/or graduate business communications sections each semester.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate degree (MS/MA/MBA/PHD) in Communications, Public Relations, English, Management, Marketing, or a closely related field.- Three or more years of professional experience in an organizational (business or non-profit) role that requires extensive internal and external communications.- Demonstrated excellence in teaching relevant courses at the undergraduate, graduate, or executive education level.- Demonstrated experience in program and curriculum development in an educational or professional context.
