Job description
Farmingdale State College (FSC), the largest college of applied science and technology within the State University of New York system, is recognized for its applied learning. It enrolls over 10,000 students and offers nearly 50 degree programs through four schools: Arts and Sciences, Business, the Pasternack School of Engineering Technology, and the Santmann School of Health Sciences. The college’s diverse offerings include the region’s largest collegiate flight school, the only four-year dental hygiene program in the area, a nursing program with a 100% NCLEX pass rate, and a graduate portfolio aligned with regional needs. Master’s degrees include construction management, nursing administration, and quality assurance and regulatory affairs, with additional programs in development.
This is a college on the move. Construction is underway on a $75 million, 52,000-square-foot Computer Sciences Center, the first zero-net-carbon-ready building on campus, designed for our growing computing programs. Our corporate partners, including PSEG Long Island and Este Lauder, provide scholarship funds, training programs, internships, and insight into the skills our students need to succeed. The college’s regional economic impact in 2025 was $272 million, according to an analysis conducted by the LIA Research.
Faculty at FSC combine excellent teaching with active scholarship that involves undergraduates. The College has one of the most diverse student populations in the SUNY system and is federally recognized as both a Hispanic-Serving Institution and an Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institution. In 2026, FSC received the Higher Education Excellence and Distinction (HEED) Award from INSIGHT Into Academia. It ranks in the top 1% of colleges nationwide on the Social Mobility Index. We invite candidates from all backgrounds who are energized by the mission of public higher education and by the students it serves.
Our 380-acre campus sits in the center of Long Island, roughly 35 miles from New York City, surrounded by a dense corridor of aerospace, health care, and technology employers, with beaches and parkland minutes away. Students connect through NCAA Division III athletics and an extensive array of clubs and organizations, and FSC has a strong culture of civic responsibility. If you want your teaching and scholarship to impact students’ careers and a region’s economy, FSC is the place.
