Full-time, 12-month administrative position, with a faculty appointment. An Assistant Professor in the Occupational Therapy Program is responsible for implementation of the program goals and objectives, developing and teaching assigned classes, supporting other faculty as needed, and participating as a full team member in assuring that the OT Program remains successful. Assistant Professors are expected to fulfillment of teaching assignments, provide support for accreditation activities, and collaborate with other program and college faculty in meeting the goals of the institution.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of an OT Faculty member include, but are not limited to the following:
- Represent the college professionally in all interactions
- Complete doctorate degree (if not completed upon hire)
- Maintain licensure and practice insurance at all times
- At minimum maintain state, national, and international OT memberships (other specialization memberships associated with teaching assignments may also be required)
- Support establishment and maintenance of fieldwork contacts and contracts
- Collaboratively work with all community resources and help to build new positive relationships
- Develop quality coursework that reflects current trends in practice for all assigned classes
- Consistently adhere to the policies and procedures of the program, college, and fieldwork sites
- Provide timely support to peers and students as needed
- Actively support all accreditation activities
- Accurately document and maintain records and data that support the accreditation of the program and college
- Fulfill all teaching assignments, while maintaining a safe, healthy, and positive learning environment
- Maintain professional development plan and continually work to develop and improve teaching skills by participating in professional educational opportunities
- Provide effective student advisement and research support
- Actively participate in scholarship by engaging in continuing education opportunities, pursuing research possibilities, exploring available grant support, presenting at professional workshops and conferences, etc.
- Respond positively and effectively to supervision
- Collaborate effectively with the Program Director, other OT faculty, program advisory board, administration, college board, college faculty, and staff to assure the best possible educational experience for all students
- Actively participate in all assigned teams, meetings, committees, etc.
- Engage in college and community service opportunities
- Strive to anticipate change and respond in a timely and effective manner with support from the program and college
- Engage in community out-reach and advocate for the OT profession at every opportunity
- Successfully complete all other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
- Minimum of a master’s degree from an accredited program in occupational therapy
- Doctoral degree is preferred and must be completed within 2 years of hire
- Minimum of 3 years of documented full-time experience in the field of occupational therapy
- Must possess a valid license to practice occupational therapy in the state of Ohio.
- Previous experience in occupational therapy education is preferred
Time Allocation:
90 % – Teaching (OT Curriculum)
10 % – Scholarship and Service
