Description:
The Haskell & Irene Lemon Construction Science (CNS) Division in the University of Oklahoma’s (OU) Gibbs College of Architecture (GCA) invites applications for a ranked renewable term (RRT) faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor beginning in August 2027. The university considers RRT faculty “regular” faculty alongside tenure-track/tenured faculty, though RRT does not include eligibility for tenure. RRT contracts are typically renewed on a regular 5-year basis following successful annual reviews, and come with significant voting privileges. Applicants should have a demonstrated background in and be prepared to teach in multiple subject areas in a construction management curriculum.
The Division and its endowment support strong leadership, a cadre of passionate and impactful faculty, and a pattern of student success in regional, national, and international competitions. The CNS degree was launched in 1983, and the undergraduate program has been accredited by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE) since 1990. The College’s history of advancing the design-build movement continues today through its approach to hands-on and interdisciplinary collaborations. The Division also houses five other programs:
- Master of Science in Construction Management (in-person)
- Master of Construction Business (MCB) (online)
- Minor in Construction Science (in-Person)
- Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Real Estate Development (in-person)
- Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies – Construction Management emphasis (online)

Qualifications:
- A Master’s degree in Construction or a related field.
- At the time employment begins, a minimum of 5 years’ professional work experience in the US construction industry.
- A demonstrated background to be able to teach in multiple subject areas, such as Construction Estimating, Field Supervision, Heavy Civil Construction, Materials and Methods, Surveying, Planning & Scheduling, Pre-Construction, Project Management, Safety, Structural Systems, and/or Technology
