Position Available

Full-time, nine-month, Assistant or Associate Professor of Agricultural Education. Salary, based on qualifications and experience, is determined by the Vice President for Academic Affairs and University President and approved by the Regional University System of Oklahoma (RUSO).

Northwestern Oklahoma State University is a state-assisted regional institution in the Regional University System of Oklahoma and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The student population is approximately 2,000 students. Located in Alva, Oklahoma, and with additional campus locations in Enid and Woodward, the university is a center of activity for the region.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be based on the Northwestern Alva campus location, teaching courses on site. We seek faculty with a commitment to teaching and mentoring undergraduates. Preference will be given to faculty who have a PhD in Agricultural Education and previous agricultural education teaching experience in secondary schools and/or previous university teaching experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will teach up to 24 credit hours of undergraduate, agricultural education courses per academic year, with summer school employment available, but not required. This position includes an expectation of committee participation, student and teacher-candidate advisement, involvement with student activities, assistance with program assessment, contribution to program review processes, and service to the community, institution, and profession. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

PhD in Agricultural Education preferred. An MS degree in Agricultural Education or a closely related field is required, with a minimum of 18 hours of graduate-level course work completed in the content area. Preference will be given to candidates with previous agricultural education teaching experience in secondary schools and/or previous university teaching experience. MS and ABD candidates will be considered for appointment at the instructor level.
