Muskingum University invites applications for a full-time, nine-month faculty appointment starting on or before August 1, 2025. Areas of expertise of particular interest include Information Systems, Information Technology, and Computer Science. This is an opportunity for a dynamic individual to help lead a high-growth academic major. The ideal candidate will have the ability to teach a variety of undergraduate courses that depending upon areas of expertise could include software engineering, machine learning, systems programming, databases, networks, cybersecurity, business intelligence, and project management. Depending on candidate qualifications, coverage in data science and visualization would help support adjacent programs. Experience or interest in developing career certificates for undergraduate students and regional professionals is an added plus. This is a renewable position with faculty rank at the Assistant or Associate level.
A doctorate in information technology, information systems, computer science, or a related discipline and undergraduate teaching experience are desired; applicants with a master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in information technology, information systems, or computer science and significant work experience are also encouraged to apply.
Muskingum is a comprehensive university with a strong liberal arts tradition located just seventy miles east of Columbus, Ohio, in the village of New Concord. The university’s total undergraduate, graduate, and adult-learner student population is approximately 2,500.
