Organizational Summary Statement:

The Department of Finance at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland, College Park invites applications for faculty positions at the Assistant Professor rank. Position openings are subject to budgetary approval. Successful applicants will be expected to conduct top-level scholarly research, deliver high-quality teaching to undergraduate, MBA, MS, and PhD students and perform service.

Smith School of Business is a recognized leader in management research and education for the global economy. A comprehensive business school, Smith offers undergraduate, full-time and part-time MBA, M.S., Executive MBA, PhD, and non-degree executive education programs as well as outreach services to the corporate community. Preferences:

Qualified candidates should have a PhD already in hand or expected by Fall 2026.

Applicants should demonstrate high research potential (for new PhDs) or an established record of research excellence.

All applicants are expected to possess excellent teaching skills, including the ability to incorporate the latest insights from research and practice into existing and new courses.
