Job description
The Professional Program in Veterinary Medicine (PPVM) at South Dakota State University, in dynamic partnership with the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine, is seeking an exceptional and engaging clinician-educator who is passionate about inspiring the next generation of veterinarians. We are looking for a faculty member who brings energy to the classroom, excellence to clinical instruction, and a deep commitment to mentorship, someone who can translate real-world veterinary experience into meaningful, hands-on learning that challenges students to think critically, grow confidently, and pursue clinical excellence. This is a 9-month, full-time, clinical (non-tenure-track), benefits eligible position at the Assistant or Associate level with a specialization in Veterinary Anatomy located in Brookings, South Dakota.
SDState is the state’s largest, most comprehensive university with over $94 million annual research expenditures, more than 200 academic programs and an enrollment of approximately 12,000 students. The university is part of a dynamic community for families, students, young professionals, and retirees, which offers an abundance of attractions and activities. The PPVM is a collaborative 2+2 veterinary education program in partnership with the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. Each year, a cohort of 20 students begins the professional DVM curriculum at SDSU before transitioning to the University of Minnesota for clinical training. Faculty benefit from strong curricular alignment and ongoing collaboration with University of Minnesota colleagues to ensure rigor, innovation, and clinical relevance.
