Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track), Business Technology and Analytics, with emphasis in AI

Start Date: August 2026

The Lacy School of Business at Butler University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Business Technology and Analytics (BTA), with emphasis in Artificial Intelligence (AI). The successful candidate should have a strong foundation in management information systems, business analytics, or data science. The candidate should demonstrate excellent teaching skills and demonstrate potential in conducting quality research in information systems and data analytics related areas. The ideal candidate will expand the BTA program’s expertise in Generative AI (GenAI) and its business applications and contribute to ongoing initiatives advancing the responsible and effective use of GenAI across campus.

The Lacy School of Business follows a balanced teacher-scholar model emphasizing both excellence in teaching and high-quality research. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses focused on the application of Generative AI in business, analytics, and information systems, while developing innovative and experiential learning opportunities. Faculty are also expected to maintain an active research agenda that leads to high quality peer-reviewed publications in information systems, business analytics, or related fields. Research examining the organizational, strategic, or ethical implications of GenAI is especially welcome.

Qualifications:

  • Hold a doctorate in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Computer/Information Science, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution by the start date.
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness and research potential consistent with the expectations of a balanced teacher-scholar institution is required.
