The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Montana Tech is pleased to announce an opening for an Assistant Professor (non-Tenure track) with Data Science expertise and/or research interests. This position has three years of guaranteed grant funding, with the possibility of additional support beyond that date. Montana Technological University, a regionally accredited college in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, primarily offers degrees in the sciences and engineering.
The Mathematical Sciences Department offers undergraduate majors in Mathematics (with options in applied mathematics and statistics) and Data Science. The normal teaching load for this position is 3-6 credits per semester with a maximum of 9 credits per year. The primary responsibilities will include conducting research with members of the INBRE network and running professional development workshops related to Data Science techniques. Additional responsibilities could include, but are not limited to, advising Data Science majors, overseeing capstone projects, and designing courses and curriculum for the Data Science program.
