The School of Education at Indiana University Kokomo invites applications for a full time, 10-month, Assistant Professor of Educational and School Psychology position beginning August 1, 2025. Information about the program can be found at https://kokomo.iu.edu/education/index.html.
The successful candidate will teach courses in a number of areas, including but not limited to lifespan development, classroom assessment, ethics and law in school psychology, consultation and collaboration in school psychology, and roles and functions of school psychologists. They will conduct research in related areas, such as best practices in special education, building administrator preparedness for implementing mental health practices, and integrating mental health practices into the school setting. They will have experience teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as the proven ability to develop new courses and curriculum.
The successful candidate will also demonstrate success working with diverse faculty and student populations and will have experience with a variety of teaching methods and curricular perspectives, as well as a willingness to participate in our collegial and supportive program environment. Responsibilities include teaching three courses per semester; establishing and maintaining an active, productive research program; and being active in service to the program, the campus, and the university.

Basic Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Ph.D. in school psychology, educational psychology, educational administration, or related field with a specialization required to teach relevant courses.
- Five+ years of experience working in P12 schools.
- Demonstration of strong communication and organizational skills, and a team-oriented approach to work.
- Commitment to teaching, service, and student engagement.
- Two+ years of successful teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels in multiple formats (in person, online, and hybrid).
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and lead learning programs,
- Experience in P12 district-wide administration.
- Experience using Canvas or other Learning Management Systems.

The Assistant Professor of Educational and School Psychology position is 10-month per year position with the option for summer teaching (not required).
The successful candidate will teach a combination of undergraduate and graduate courses in our teacher education program and our Ed.S. in School Psychology Collaborative Hybrid Program, including course topics such as lifespan development, classroom assessment, ethics and law in school psychology, consultation and collaboration in school psychology, and roles and functions of school psychologists.
Responsibilities
- Teach and prepare three courses per semester in our teacher education program and graduate program. Courses may be in-person, Online, hybrid, or in additional formats, and may be offered in the evenings.
- Conference with students regarding coursework, fieldwork, and academic endeavors.
- Provide service to the school, college, campus, and university and participate in shared governance activities.
- Engage in a successful program of research.
- Manage a productive teaching/learning environment.
The salary for this position is
- $55,000 plus benefits,
- Teaching in the summer is voluntary and compensated separately.
