The University of Arkansas at Monticello invites applications for an assistant/instructor faculty position in accounting. Primary duties consist of teaching Principles of Managerial Accounting and upper-level courses in the major such as Cost Accounting, Auditing, Governmental/Nonprofit and Accounting Information Systems. Other responsibilities include advising students and service to the University and the School of Business. Expectations for promotion and tenure include research/scholarly activities appropriate to a teaching-centered School of Business. Collegiality, professionalism, effective communication skills, and a strong commitment to teaching excellence are necessary. As a member of the business faculty the successful candidate will be an integral part of the School and have the opportunity to shape the accounting and business programs.
For appointment at the assistant professor level a Ph.D. or D.B.A. is strongly preferred. Applicants with CPA licensure and a Master’s degree in business, accounting, or a related field may be considered for appointment at the assistant level. Applicants with a Master’s degree in business, accounting, or a related field may be considered for appointment at the instructor level. Preference will be given to candidates with previous higher education teaching experience, both online and in-person. \
