Description
Springfield College invites applications for a Assistant Professor of Chemistry for a one-year appointment in the Department of Biology & Chemistry. The college seeks a broadly trained chemist who can teach introductory chemistry lecture and laboratory courses to a wide range of majors (Chemistry Survey and General Chemistry, and possibly Biochemistry). The position has a full-time workload of 12 hours per semester and is a one year term position with the potential for renewal. Preference is given to candidates who are excellent and innovative teachers and have a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in STEM education. These courses will meet face-to-face on the Springfield, MA campus.
Qualifications
A Masters degree (with commensurate teaching experience) required; PhD from a regionally accredited institution preferred. Strong teaching experience, especially with first-year students, is ideal. ABD candidates are invited to apply.
