The LeBron James Family Foundation School of Education at the University of Akron (https://www.uakron.edu/education) invites applications for a (non-tenure-track) Assistant Professor of Practice position starting in August 2026.
Required Qualifications:
1. Earned doctorate in Literacy Education or related field by the time of employment.
2. Evidence of minimum 3 years classroom teaching experience in PK-12 setting
3. Applicants must hold a structured literacy certificate and have completed a supervised practicum through an accredited program.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Evidence of successful teaching at the post secondary level
2. Experience with curriculum development
3. Experience teaching literacy methods courses
4. Experience literacy coaching in PreK-12 grades
5. Experience with integration of emerging technology in teaching and learning
