Posting Summary
Responsibilities will involve but not be limited to: Provide high-quality dental care to patients with complex medical, developmental, and behavioral conditions
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized treatment plans
Ensure adherence to best practices in patient safety and special care dentistry
Supervise and instruct predoctoral and/or postdoctoral dental students in the Special Care Clinic
Deliver didactic and clinical instruction in special care dentistry
Mentor students and residents in patient management, treatment planning, and clinical skills
Support clinic operations, quality improvement initiatives, and accreditation processes
Treat patients under General Anesthesia

Minimum Education and Experience
A DDS/DMD degree from a CODA accredited school.
Completion of advanced training in special care dentistry, general practice residency (GPR), or advanced education in general dentistry (AEGD) preferred
Eligibility for licensure in the State of New Jersey
Demonstrated commitment to teaching and patient-centered care
Experience working with medically complex and special needs populations preferred
Must obtain O.R. privileges within 6 months of employment
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Hospital privileges must be obtained within 6 months of date of hire and maintained throughout employment.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrate clinical and administrative effectiveness including training, experience and competency in dental treatment using pharmacological agents and/or general anesthesia. Must have knowledge and ability to execute dental procedures in the areas of restorative dentistry, endodontics, implant dentistry, maxillofacial prosthetics and oral surgical procedures. There must be a demonstrated ability to manage a broad segment of dental problems with minimal supervision
