Classification Pay Scale
In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.

Expected Pay Scale
Minimum: $170,000.00 Annually
Maximum $190,000.00 Annually

Job Summary

This is a Faculty appointment position within the Western University of Health Sciences College of Dental Medicine and is offered in conjunction with an Administrative appointment. Together, the Faculty appointment role (PCN 100100, 0.90 FTE) and the administrative role of Associate Dean of BioMed Science (PCN 998331, 0.10 FTE) comprise a full-time position (1.0 FTE / 5 days per week).

Primary Purpose: A faculty appointment of 0.90 FTE in combination with the Associate Dean for Research and Bio-Med Sciences of 0.10 FTE for a total FTE of 1.0 FTE. This position is located at Western University of Health Sciences College of Dental Medicine in Pomona, California. This faculty member is a member of our collaborative team of basic science, dental scientist and dental faculty. This high performing educational team is responsible for the development and delivery of the pre-doctoral biomedical sciences curriculum. The WesternU CDM biomedical sciences curriculum provides students with an innovative approach that integrates foundational sciences, clinical sciences and objective driven, case-based approaches delivered in an active learning environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Ph.D., D.D.S, M.D. or equivalent from an accredited institution. Teaching and research experience in an academic health center environment is required.
  • Experience: Willingness to participate in the design and delivery of a series of highly integrated (interdisciplinary and interprofessional integration) human systems courses for dental students.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience: Discipline specific emphasis in medicine, physiology, and/or pathology. Training and experience in conducting biomedical research. Willingness to participate in the design and delivery of a series of highly integrated (interdisciplinary and interprofessional integration) human systems courses for dental students.
