Job description
Colby-Sawyer College is looking for a new colleague to join the School of Business and Social Sciences. We seek an innovative, energetic educator in Counseling or Clinical Psychology. Ideally, the candidate will teach a range of courses from introductory and foundational to upper-level electives.
This is a 9-month, full-time, tenure-track (TT) position (with a terminal degree) or 9-month full-time non-TT position (without a terminal degree) that begins in late August 2026.
Although a doctoral degree in psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) is preferred, professionally licensed candidates with a master’s degree and applied experience (i.e., clinical/counseling/therapist), or candidates with “all but dissertation” (ABD) are encouraged to apply. Considering the importance of clinical skills, we will encourage faculty to maintain some clinical practice in addition to teaching and service at the college.
Responsibilities
This position includes teaching, advising, service responsibilities, and ongoing scholarship and creative work in alignment with the criteria in the Colby-Sawyer College Faculty Handbook. Full-time faculty are expected to contribute to the college’s liberal education program.
Requirements
- Demonstrate and possess a strong record of collegiate teaching.
- A philosophy of education consistent with Colby-Sawyer’s programs and mission are required.
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues related to curricular initiatives, teaching responsibilities and student support.
How to apply
In addition to your current CV and letter of application/cover letter, please upload a statement of teaching philosophy along with sample syllabi and teaching evaluations, if available.
Priority will be given to complete applications received by February 15, 2026. Review of applications will begin February 16, 2026, and continue until the position is filled.
