About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and student-centered professional to support and advance our undergraduate programs in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, and Computer Science. This role plays a key part in fostering student success, coordinating academic initiatives, and strengthening engagement across these high-demand disciplines.

The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the dean, faculty, staff, and industry partners to enhance program visibility, support curriculum-related activities, and ensure a positive and inclusive experience for students throughout their academic journey. Responsibilities include assisting with program operations, supporting recruitment and retention efforts, coordinating events and outreach initiatives, and serving as a resource for students navigating academic and career pathways.

During the first year, the successful candidate will receive a reduced teaching load to allow dedicated time to build strong relationships with community and industry partners, expand experiential learning opportunities, and actively support enrollment growth across the programs.

This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and an interest in emerging technologies and computing fields. The successful candidate will contribute to the continued growth and excellence of our Cybersecurity, Information Technology, and Computer Science undergraduate programs, aligning efforts with institutional goals and workforce needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a closely related field; a doctoral degree is preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated professional experience in applied information technology, cybersecurity, computer science, or related industry roles.
  • Proven ability to teach and communicate complex technical concepts effectively to diverse student populations.
  • Strong commitment to student success and experiential learning methodologies.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
  • Experience developing curriculum and instructional materials for higher education.
  • Prior experience collaborating with industry partners or managing applied research projects.
  • Familiarity with current IT certifications and industry standards.
  • Experience with online or hybrid teaching modalities.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deliver undergraduate in cybersecurity, computer science, and/or information technology that emphasize practical skills and industry relevance.
  • Engage with students through mentoring, advising, and providing feedback to support their academic and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with academic colleagues and industry professionals to continuously update curriculum and incorporate emerging technologies and best practices.
  • Participate in departmental and university service activities, including committee work and program development.
  • Contribute to the development of experiential learning opportunities such as internships, projects, and workshops that enhance student engagement with real-world IT applications.

The required and preferred skills are utilized daily to create an engaging and effective learning environment that connects academic theory with practical IT applications. Strong communication skills enable the professor to convey complex technical information clearly and adapt teaching strategies to diverse learning styles. Curriculum development skills are essential for designing courses that reflect current industry trends and technologies. Collaboration skills facilitate partnerships with industry professionals and colleagues to enrich the educational experience and provide students with relevant opportunities. Additionally, proficiency with educational technologies and online teaching platforms supports flexible and accessible instruction.
