The American University of Beirut (AUB) Faculty of Medicine (FM) and Medical Center is seeking adistinguished clinical and academic leader for the position of Chairperson of the Department of Dermatology.The Department of Dermatology provides patient-centered services, comprehensive education, andadvanced clinical and basic research. Clinical services cover both out-patients and in-patients andinclude procedural and cosmetic dermatology, dermatological surgery, dermatopathology,phototherapy, and laser therapy. Faculty members within the department also offer elective andselective clerkships to medical students and interns, as well as an ACGME-I accredited ResidencyProgram in Dermatology. They are also engaged in research covering the epidemiology, diagnosis,management, and treatment of numerous dermatological diseases.

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate for the position of Chairperson should be an accomplished clinical and academic leader. Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Hold a medical degree with subsequent formal clinical training in Dermatology, preferablythrough accredited residency and fellowship programs.
  • Have achieved a recognized academic rank, preferably at the level of Associate Professor or Professor.
  • Demonstrate leadership experience with a distinguished record in clinical practice, education,and research.
  • Possess exceptional communication, teamwork, administrative, and managerial skills, coupledwith a proven ability to mentor faculty and trainees, and foster academic growth.
