Position Summary
The Prosthodontics department in the Indiana University School of Dentistry is seeking qualified applicants for our clinical-track faculty position. This will be a 12-month appointment at the rank of assistant professor at 1.0 FTE, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026.Our new faculty member will come ready to build upon the school’s and campus’s tradition of excellence and to further advance scholarship, education, clinical service, and community engagement. Our new team member will be expected to provide clinical and didactic instruction to predoctoral dental students and graduate prosthodontics residents, participate in competency assessments, and help to implement a comprehensive and robust curriculum using state of the art and emerging technologies. Generation of scholarly activity as well as engagement in university service at the department, school, and university levels, including participation in departmental and school governance is expected. Faculty practice and other revenue-generating opportunities will be considered for eligible candidates.

Fritts DDS Clinical Care Center on the IU-Indianapolis campus, adjacent to local hospitals and part of an urban academic health center. In 2026, we will open our newly renovated Delta Dental Special Care Clinic to enhance our ability to train oral health professionals and provide care for patients with disabilities, including those with complex craniofacial disorders and medical complexity in an interdisciplinary setting.

Basic Qualifications
ARE YOU READY TO JOIN?Full consideration will be given to candidates who meet the following requirements:

  • Has a DDS/DMD or equivalent dental degree
  • Has a certificate of advanced education in Prosthodontics from a Commission of Dental Accreditation (CODA) or Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada (CDAC) accredited program (by the time of appointment)
  • Has obtained or will obtain an unrestricted Indiana dental license or an Indiana dental faculty license by the time of appointment. (Information on state dental licensure is available at https://www.in.gov/pla/professions/dentistry-home/).
  • Has experience in the digital dentistry workflow in prosthodontics and implantology

Additional Qualifications
It will be a bonus if you have:

  • A master’s degree (or other advanced academic degrees) in the fields of Education, Prosthodontics, Dental Material, or Implantology.
  • Has experience teaching at the predoctoral level
  • Board certification by the American Board of Prosthodontics
  • A certificate in Maxillofacial Prosthetics from a program accredited by CODA or CDAC

Salary and Rank
Rank and salary will be based on the applicant’s credentials and experience.
