The University of Texas at Austin is seeking outstanding applicants for a non-tenure track faculty position in the Public Health Degree Program in the College of Natural Sciences.
Qualified candidates will have a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or DrPH) in public health or a related field. Past experience in providing public health or related services is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated the ability to teach successfully, will have proven scholarship and achievement, and the ability to work with a dynamic and creative team.
Courses to be taught include: Introduction to Public Health (two sections) and Environmental Health. Thus, the ideal candidate will have broad experience in public health and specialized knowledge/experience in the area of environmental health, including aspects of air and water pollution as they affect population health. She/he must have the ability to teach undergraduate students interested in public health and public health majors. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to assist undergraduate students with the completion of research projects and honors theses. Prior experience mentoring students is desirable. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in curriculum development and the use of innovative instructional methods. Successful grant writing experience is desirable.
