John A. Logan College is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure-track position in Emergency Medical Services to begin Fall 2025. The College is committed to providing a supportive learning environment that fosters close collaboration between students and faculty members. Education & Experience Requirements
Education required:
- Bachelor’s degree in emergency medical services, public safety, law enforcement, environmental health, healthcare, or related field
- Current State of Illinois paramedic license (or reciprocity within 3 months)
- Current State of Illinois EMS Lead Instructor license (reciprocity within 3 months)
- Current certification in CPR, ACLS, and PALS
- Certification in ITLS or PHTLS
Education preferred:
- Master’s degree in emergency medical services, public safety, law enforcement, environmental health, healthcare related field
Experience required:
- Minimum of 3 year’s field experience as a paramedic
Experience preferred:
- EMS instruction and program coordination experience
- Post-secondary level teaching experience
Essential Functions & Position Duties
- Foster and promote a collegial atmosphere, prioritizing student learning and success
- Deliver high-quality instruction in EMT/EMS courses
- Develop new courses that cater to the needs of the diverse student population and adapt to the evolving educational landscape
- Fulfill the academic year’s contractual obligations for the fall and spring semesters
- Teach a minimum of 15 credit hours per semester and hold eight office hours per week for student consultation during the fall and spring semesters
- Additional teaching opportunities with compensation may be available in the summer semester
- Be available to teach classes during the day, evenings, and/or weekends as per the schedule of classes
- Full-time faculty members are provided with office space and have access to excellent support services

Non-essential functions of the position
Other duties as assigned. Duties must be performed on the John A. Logan College campus or designated location.

Salary:
- Bachelor’s Degree Salary Range: $45,452 – $93,242, dependent on experience
- Master’s Degree Salary Range: $47,882 – $95,672, dependent on experience
